Alice Tacheny is a designer and artist based in Marin County, California. Trained as a woodworker and with years of experience as a furniture designer, Alice began her studio in 2012 with a collection of modern handcrafted furniture. Since then, her practice has evolved into the creation of functional objects and art using a variety of materials including wood, soft metals, leather and concrete. Alice’s work is rooted in experimentation, convergence of forms, impermanence and entropy, and the intimate relationships we form with ordinary objects.
Alice Tacheny Design is a design studio based in Marin County, California. We design and create home objects and hardware using elemental forms and familiar materials that are beautiful and tactile, encouraging visceral connection with the people who use them.
We believe that the connection with one’s environment is deepened over time with use, wear, and familiarity and that through use accessories and objects become an integral and defining part of your surroundings.
